2025 Sustainability Report
At McLays, we recognise the significant impact that food systems have on the environment, and understand our responsibility in contributing knowledge and time to the solution. The purpose of this report is to provide a transparent overview of what we have been working on and what we plan to do.
A lot of sustainability work, and reporting, is not standardised, we need to do it off of our own initiative and learn from our mistakes as we go. We hope that you enjoy the insights that we have provided and welcome any feedback or questions.

Our People, Our Strength

Living Wage Foundation
At McLay’s Foods, our people are at the heart of everything we do – which is why we’re proud to be accredited by the Living Wage Foundation.
Since 2021, we’ve committed to paying all employees the Real Living Wage – a rate calculated to meet the cost of living, not just the government minimum. This decision has helped us reward our loyal workforce, and show our dedication to treating people fairly.
We’ve also gone a step further, achieving Living Hours accreditation. This means our staff have guaranteed, secure working hours they can rely on – giving them stability, peace of mind, and a fair wage they can depend on.
For us, it’s simple: when our team thrives, so does our business.
